The sight of him shattered the hearts of the AMA Animal Rescue team. Determined to give him a chance at life, they persuaded his owner to surrender him. As soon as he was in their care, Kai was rushed to the vet. It marked the beginning of a new chapter—one filled with healing, love, and the promise of a forever home.
The Glow-Up
Kai was not just suffering from skin infection, but also a bad case of severe mange, swollen paws, and extreme malnourishment. Additionally, the vets determined that he was forced to live in a filthy, unsanitary environment, which led to most of his health issues.
The 2-month-old was kept in medical boarding to stabilize before going to a foster home. The rescue knew that cases like his don’t always have happy endings, even with the best efforts.
But Kai defied the odds—thanks to his resilience, critical medical treatment, and the unwavering love of his foster mom. With regular medicated baths, proper nutrition, and consistent care, Kai began to heal.
Slowly but surely, Kai transformed into a healthy and happy dog. Months later, his skin healed, his fur completely grew back, and his little body gained weight.
Foster Fail, Forever Win
Once Kai had fully recovered, it was time to find him a forever home—but his foster mom couldn’t bear to let him go. During the months they spent together, Kai’s true personality blossomed. He became a playful, affectionate puppy who adored his foster mom—and the feeling was mutual.
In a wonderful turn of events, Kai’s foster mom adopted him and he is now officially a member of her family. The pupper is now thriving in his loving, warm, and comfortable forever home. He has made a lot of new best friends that include humans and furry animals.
