Lost Dog Weaves Through Dangerous City Traffic Until Saved by Kindhearted Bus Driver
If you had only a few seconds to decide whether or not to stop for a dog who’s clearly lost, do you think you would? Most people would say yes, but little things like running late or the bystander effect (assuming someone else will help because there are others around) could change your mind in the spur of the moment. Lost dogs, like one loving Pit Bull from Milwaukee, have to walk by so many people before someone finally steps up to help.
Fortunatley, a selfless bus driver was in the right place at the right time to save this wayward pup. It was a gloomy rainy day on Monday, June 3, when the dog was seen weaving through cars in an intersection, but neither the Milwaukee County Transit System driver nor her passengers batted an eye when the dog happily hopped onto the bus. Surveillance footage caught the heartwarming scene from multiple angles, too!
I would have felt so panicked seeing a dog walking through a busy road like that, but bus driver Stephany K. stayed cool, calm, and collected. The easygoing Pittie seemed to sense her kindness because he walked right toward the side of the bus and into the doors! As one commenter pointed out, it almost seems like he’s boarded the bus before.
Looking Out For Lost Pets
It’s also interesting that he’s wearing a collar and is so relaxed around new people. Clearly, he’s not in the right place or with anybody! He may have recently escaped or gotten scared as a result of the stormy weather, but it’s a relief that he’s not obviously injured, ill, or frightened. He’s certainly not a stray dog!
Stephany had to continue driving her route, of course, but a route supervisor quickly came to escort the brave dog to the city shelter in hopes of reuniting him with his family. Surely, someone was out there worried sick about him! Although the Milwaukee County Transit System hasn’t provided any updates about the dog’s whereabouts or wellbeing, seeing the kind way he was rescued from the rainy streets is reassurance enough. And if his owners, for any reason, can’t take him back, he has so many new fans thanks to this heartwarming viral video!
