2. Bear: Sweet Golden Retriever-Great Pyrenees Mix

Bear is a happy and friendly dog with a sweet smile. He generally gets along well with dogs of all sizes and loves to play chase and wrestle in the yard. He is respectful of smaller dogs and usually takes a low position to make them more comfortable. He is gentle with people and has done well with both adults and children alike. The only issue with small children is his size, and he may lean against or push on a small child being unaware of his body size and space.
Bear loves “sniffing walks” and to explore his neighborhood, but must remain on a leash at all times. He understands the commands sit, down, wait, and “inside”. He is responsive to liver treats (his favorite) and is usually gentle when taking one. Bear prefers to chew on soft toys. He sleeps on the couch at night and prefers a soft surface due to his past leg surgery. In typical Pyrennes fashion, he can be protective of his home and yard. He will bark to let others know that he is guarding his space but is fine with people entering the home. He has never met a stranger and is very enthusiastic to make new friends. Learn More

12. Phoebe: 1-year-old Border Collie

Phoebe, a 10-month-old female Border Collie, is currently being fostered in Plymouth, Indiana. This energetic and curious pup has settled in beautifully at her foster home. Phoebe is crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and is an excellent car passenger, making her a joy to have around.
Like many young dogs, Phoebe has some challenges to work through, particularly resource guarding. She tends to guard items from both people and other dogs, but this behavior lessens as she becomes more comfortable and builds trust. Her foster parent has been managing this by creating a structured environment and practicing “trade ya” techniques to redirect her guarding tendencies. With continued guidance and love, Phoebe has the potential to thrive in a patient and understanding forever home. Learn More
