2. Thor: 113 Pound German Shepherd
If you like German Shepherds then you need to check out Thor!!!! He is a purebred Shepherd, 9 years old and weighs 113 pounds. We don’t know the details yet, but we think Thor’s owner may have passed away or gone to a nursing home. They definitely loved Thor because they made sure he would be able to find another home.
Thor is great with kids and he does play with the neighbors dog but he can get protective of his property. Of course, he is a Shepherd!!! We will have to get him away from the house to test him with other dogs. Thor would love a home to just live out his final years of life. Learn More
3. Henry: 105 Pound Great Pyrenees
When you meet Henry, you will love him. All the charm of the breed is rolled up into a 105-pound package of Pyr-boy fun! This handsome 4-year-old is always interested in playing, so a home with other dogs would suit him really well. He gets along with and has lived with both male and female dogs. Henry has double dew claws and came to rescue from a Kentucky breeder in the Fall of 2020 when he was a big, clumsy pup. He was adopted years ago, but his parents have split up, so Henry needs a new foster or furever home.
He can be quite puppyish, and wants to meet everyone and do everything, so be prepared for adventure with this fun pup. He is easy to please though, as a stick is still his favorite toy. Henry has mastered the “sit” and “down” commands with biscuit bribes, and we think he can learn many more if properly encouraged, and in a home that loves and understands the breed. Please fill out our online adoption application to see if Henry is the right Pyr for you. Learn More

5. Duke: Friendly English Mastiff
Duke is a stunning male English Mastiff with a heart as big as his paws! This gentle giant is sweet, playful, and loves nothing more than going on walks and enjoying some quality playtime. Duke is dog-friendly and would thrive in a home with an owner familiar with the Mastiff breed, as he’ll need someone who understands his needs and can provide the structure and love he deserves.
While Duke is a loving and affectionate companion, he’s best suited for a home without younger kids. His size and energy are better matched with an adult or a family with older children who can appreciate his playful nature. Learn More
6. Sampson: 155 Pound Harlequin Great Dane
Sammy is a stunning harlequin Great Dane and notably the biggest Dane we have encountered. He is loving and gentle with kids, and social and friendly with other dogs. He has attended many Great Dane meet-ups and loves his toys. Sammy can sit and lay down on command and heels well on a leash. He’s completed beginner and intermediate training classes and enjoys three walks daily. Sammy will quickly bond with his new owner and would thrive in a home with a yard.
Sammy’s journey has seen him rehomed twice due to no fault of his own—his previous owner fell ill, and his current family is divorcing. Both families have praised Sammy’s wonderful nature. He is ideally looking for an owner who appreciates the Great Dane breed and can provide the loving home he deserves. Learn More
7. Appa: 100 Pound Great Pyrenees
Appa—friendly, beautiful, and ready to meet you! Are you her loving forever family? This girl came into rescue as a stray, not having any training, and has learned so much! She has a beautiful, long, soft coat which she will patiently let you brush. She has learned that people are wonderful, wagging her tail ready for pets and kind words, and is happy to give the Pyr Paw. Appa has learned to walk nicely on a leash and to go into a crate; if she gets a Nylabone to entertain her.
She has even learned to sit for a treat and is doing great on housebreaking. This girl loves other dogs and playing chase, but will also gladly chill when in the house. She has such a gentle nature and laid-back personality she should be fine with children. The perfect family for Appa should have a secure 5’ fenced yard and a playful canine companion to run, roll around with, and show her how to play with toys. A cat or two would be welcome as well.
