Franky is a 9-year-old black and tan dapple dachshund in Alcoa, Tennessee, whose life recently changed when his family could no longer care for him due to unforeseen circumstances. Despite the transition, this little guy has adjusted beautifully in foster care and is showing exactly what he’s made of: sweetness, curiosity, and classic dachshund personality. At just over 15 pounds, he’s the perfect small companion with a big heart and an even bigger love for being near his people.
In foster care, Franky has settled in well with both male and female dachshunds and is learning household routines with ease. He’s also shown polite curiosity toward cats—responsive when corrected and willing to “leave it,” which speaks to his trainability and good listening skills.

Franky is the kind of dog who settles into your routine quickly—especially if that routine includes cozy blankets, couch time, and a window view for neighborhood watch duty. Like many dachshunds, he will alert you to anything he deems suspicious (which may include squirrels, visitors, or the wind), but he’s equally happy to relax once he knows everything is in order.
He currently sleeps in his crate but would very much prefer graduating to the big bed with his people. He enjoys walks, loves being outside, and has a natural curiosity for the world around him.
Franky is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and maintained on monthly preventatives. His adoption fee is $325 plus a $25 microchip fee.
