Wilbur isn’t just a Pomeranian—he’s a little survivor with a huge heart. At 6 years old and just 9 pounds, he was born with significant congenital conditions that affect his back legs and chest. His back legs are twisted, so he adapts in his own incredible way—sometimes walking on all fours, sometimes on three, and sometimes even using a playful “handstand” style to get where he wants to go.
His chest and trachea are also not formed typically, which can cause breathing challenges and a bluish tint to his tongue at times. With a daily oral bronchodilator every 12 hours, Wilbur has greatly improved energy and quality of life—and he continues to thrive in his own unique way.
But none of this defines him.
Wilbur believes he’s just a happy, outgoing little dog—and honestly, that’s exactly how he lives.
Why He’s the Ultimate Little Fighter
🐾 Age: 6 years old | Weight: 9 lbs
💖 Extremely sweet, social, and affectionate
😊 Outgoing personality—loves people and attention
🚶 Leash trained and enjoys walks
🏡 House trained and crate trained
🪜 Can handle steps and everyday home life well
✨ Doesn’t let his physical challenges slow down his spirit
Wilbur has lived this way his whole life, so he doesn’t see himself as different—he just sees life as something to enjoy. He moves, plays, and connects like any other small dog, with an attitude that’s pure joy.
What He’s Looking For
✔️ A loving, committed home that sees beyond physical differences
✔️ An adopter open to possible future mobility support (such as a cart in senior years)
✔️ Someone who will continue his medical care routine (bronchodilator every 12 hours)
✔️ A cozy, safe home where he can be part of daily life and companionship
✔️ A person who values personality over perfection
Wilbur doesn’t need a special setup—just a special kind of love.
