Roxanne is a 7-year-old, 13-lb sweetheart who is brand new to rescue and already settling in beautifully with her foster family. From day one, she’s shown what a well-mannered, confident, and affectionate little lady she is.

On the car ride home from pickup, Roxanne curled up between her foster family’s teenage boys and slept peacefully for most of the drive. She rides comfortably in the car wearing her safety harness and has already visited PetSmart—where she calmly observed other dogs, accepted attention from strangers, and showed no signs of fear or reactivity.

Roxanne is food-motivated and eager to learn. She eats enthusiastically, so her meals are portioned and paced to avoid tummy upset, and puzzle feeders are working great for her. She enjoys training games and is already participating in positive-reinforcement exercises that help her make good choices and build confidence.

She knows the sit command (still working on consistency), is learning “drop”, and absolutely loves training games like “search” and impulse-control exercises. Roxanne is smart, engaged, and clearly enjoys working with her people.

Despite her small size, Roxanne is impressively athletic—she can jump onto a tall bed with ease, navigate couches and carpeted stairs confidently, and keeps up just fine on long walks. Stairs and furniture are no problem for her, though her foster family uses pet stairs to help her get down safely.
