Meet Pumpkin King, aka the Velvet Belly! Social and loving, Pumpkin King adores playing with other dogs when he’s out and about. He is a tug-of-war enthusiast, showcasing his playful and goofy side. On grassy walks, he transforms into a canine breakdancer, flopping over and wiggling like he’s auditioning for America’s Got Talent.
He’s house trained, a delight in the car, and a dream on the leash, making him your ideal copilot.
When playtime is over, he seamlessly transforms into a couch cuddler, eagerly putting his head in your lap for some quality snuggle time. He’s also a master at self-entertainment, often amusing himself by using his nose to playfully toss his toys up into the air.

This medium-energy sweetheart is treat-motivated and attentive. Sit and stay? Nailed it. Like a fine wine, he just gets better with each passing day. Pumpkin King is ready to bring the silliness and snuggles to his furever home.
TLDR; Pumpkin King is:
– the dog with the softest belly; ever.
– a super snuggler
– playful & goofy (loves tug of war!)
– fully potty trained
– great on leash
– the ultimate doggie playdate partner, spreading happiness in every romp.
– crate trained
– able to entertain himself
– a delight in the car
– intelligent, treat motivated & knows sit & stay
– well mannered
Unfortunately, this AMAZING 3 yr old boy, has been stuck in the shelter for almost two years. He is losing hope. He is on antidepressants now just to make it through the endless, monotonous days.
When Pumpkin King gets taken on walks, he goes straight to the parking lot and tries to get in to EVERY SINGLE CAR.
His eyes say it so clearly, “PLEASE. PLEASE, get me out of the shelter”.
Just Pumpkin King’s sad eyes, pleading with us to find him a home.
Some notes from volunteers who love him and give him occasional breaks from his kennel in their home:
*He has elbow patches like a professor
*He is SOOOOOO happy & rompy when he wakes up in a home, like he can’t believe he isn’t in a shelter
*He throws things up into the air with his nose
*He sleeps in bed with us…parallel in between us
*He has cute boxer feet/little sockies
*Will do “stay” command & wait for his food
*He gets bouncy when he’s happy
*Likes to lay behind you on the couch…will scooch backwards to get in that nook
Pumpkin King loves other dogs and play dates, but needs to be an only dog in the home.
