PAUL NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Come meet Paul and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Sept. 22nd) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!

Best Guess for Age: 3 yrs as of Aug 2024 Gender: Male
Approximate Weight: 19 lbs
Gets Along With: Dogs! We haven’t seen him with cats yet but he can be tested. We would be cautious placing him in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise.
Currently Living At: Lucky Dog’s South Carolina rescue campus, Stop Over Station. Paul needs a foster or adopter to secure his freedom ride to the DC area.
Special Adoption Considerations: Paul needs to go to a home with a resident dog to help him gain more confidence. We would be cautious placing him in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.

Paul is a 3-year-old maltese/terrier mix who is feeling a bit overwhelmed in the shelter. This sweet boy is scared, but with the right patient adopter, he’s ready to relax and discover his brave heart. Paul is looking for someone who will help him feel safe and loved, guiding him gently as he builds his confidence.
Dreaming of a Forever Home
The staff at Lucky Dog have been reassuring Paul that wonderful things are in store for him—a cozy bed to call his own, gentle cuddles that bring warmth to his heart, and playful romps through grassy parks. Peter dreams of belly rubs, long walks with his forever family, and, most of all, someone who will return his unconditional love.
Paul can’t wait to leave his fears behind and start a new chapter with a family who will cherish him. He needs a calm and understanding environment where he can take things at his own pace, knowing that he is loved every step of the way.
