Boop—affectionately known as Betty Boop—may be just 10.5 pounds, but her story carries weight.
Originally from Alabama, this tiny black and tan Dachshund was rescued by a Good Samaritan after someone close to her former owner witnessed her being yelled at and having things thrown at her… for barking. Dogs bark. Instead of comfort, she was mostly kept outside—despite being a small, delicate little girl.
Thankfully, someone stepped in and asked the most important question: “Can I help her find a better home?”
Now safe in rescue, Boop is beginning to understand that hands can be gentle, voices can be kind, and homes can be warm.
The Road to Trust 🐾
Boop will need patience—then a little more patience.
It took her about five days in foster care to realize she was safe. Five days to soften. Five days to begin opening her heart. And once she did? She started showing glimpses of the sweet, affectionate girl she truly is.
When she feels secure, personal space becomes optional. She wants to be close. Very close.

Her Must-Haves 🏡
Boop isn’t a “drop her anywhere” dog. She needs a very specific kind of home to thrive:
✔️ A securely fenced yard (required)
✔️ Another young, small, well-socialized dog to help build her confidence
✔️ Someone home more often than not
✔️ No apartments, condos, or high-rises
She would do best with an experienced adopter who understands fearful dogs and sees the beauty in helping one bloom.
The Sweetest Reward 💕
Once Boop settles in and knows she’s truly safe, she becomes incredibly loving. She bonds deeply. She sticks close. She gives her whole tiny heart.
The question isn’t whether she’ll become an amazing companion. It’s whether you’re ready to give her the time and security she needs to get there.
