Matteo is Looking For:
His forever home! This sweet young pup hasn’t seen nearly enough of the world and is excited to explore it by your side. Matteo dreams of romps in the park, fun adventures, dog school to show off his smarts, and of course—plenty of pets, cuddles, and belly rubs at the end of the day. What he wants most of all is to know he’s safe and loved. In return, Matteo promises adoring gazes, happy tail wags, and loyal companionship for all his days.
What My Foster Says About Me:
“Matteo is an extremely loving and affectionate dog who is curious about the world. He absolutely adores me and is like a shadow by my side in the house. He’s had no accidents indoors, and we’re currently working on crate training. Matteo loves to explore and meet new people. He walks nicely on leash most of the time but gets excited when he sees another dog or person he’d like to greet. He is very food-motivated, knows ‘sit,’ and is learning ‘shake’ and ‘lay down.’ He also loves long car rides, happily looking out the window and sniffing the world.”
Health:
- Matteo was heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! He was part of a groundbreaking study at our South Carolina Rescue Campus to help advance treatment for heartworm-positive dogs.
- He has completed his treatment and activity restriction phase and is awaiting his six-month follow-up test.
- Adoption includes a free heartworm re-test at six months and again at nine months.
- Matteo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and has received full routine vetting.
