Meet Maddy, a 2-year-old, 32 lb Australian Kelpie mix with a heart full of love and a zest for life! With her adorable pointy ears, charming underbite, and striking shepherd-like face, Maddy is as cute as they come. She’s also a tripod pup—her deformed back leg was recently amputated to improve her comfort and mobility, and now she’s happier (and faster!) than ever.
Maddy had a rough start to life. Found as a stray and limping, she was underweight and in pain before a Good Samaritan connected her with the rescue. Since then, she’s flourished in foster care—crate trained, uses a doggy door, and is mostly potty trained. She’s a bit shy with new people, especially children, but once she warms up, her gentle and affectionate personality shines. Maddy does best in a calm home with no kids or older, respectful children.
She’s great with other dogs and loves playtime with her foster siblings, as well as lounging in the backyard or snoozing on the couch. With a medium energy level, low shedding, and a loving personality, Maddy would make a wonderful companion for a patient and caring family.
