Lucy is a 10 month old female Shepherd mix that was originally abandoned in a crate in night drop last summer, and about a week later was adopted to a new family. Now, nearly a year later, she was returned to the shelter because the family is losing their home and can’t take Lucy with them. When they brought her in, Lucy was muzzled, and when asked by staff if Lucy was aggressive, they said she had a ‘nipping problem’ and would nip at both animals and people. At the time of adoption, Lucy would have only been around 3 months old, meaning her nipping could be attributed to her puppyhood. A sign outside her kennel indicates no visits at this time as she was frozen and nervous about being back at the shelter again.

It’s clear after some time spent with Rocky in her kennel, Lucy is in desperate need of confidence building again, and with a dedicated family who will not only train her, but provide her with the love she craves again, she will blossom into the best pup! Lucy is at Animal Friends of the Valleys in Wildomar, CA. Her ID is #735473. ***Please note that Animal Friends of the Valleys is unable to transport animals. Adoptions are first come, first serve. Pets must be visited with in person prior to an adoption. Rocky Kanaka is not responsible for adoption processes and interested parties must go through the shelter for more details on adopting.***
