Kau’i Boy has been waiting patiently, hoping someone will finally see the gentle soul beneath his quiet eyes.
He was first surrendered in Maui Humane Society in Hawaii with 14 other dogs in December of 2024 because of his family moving. After six months of waiting, he was the only one left. Alone and scared, he slowly became depressed and didn’t to go on walks anymore.
Rocky Kanaka saw him and quickly knew, he needed to help. Rocky was able to share Kau’i Boy’s story to the world.
He’s as sweet as a summer breeze and just as soft-hearted—but the shelter is no place for a dog like him. While he enjoys the company of people, he’s a bit more particular when it comes to other dogs, and due to his high prey drive, he’ll need a home without cats or small animals.
After going live, Kau’i Boy was immediately noticed, and was given the opportunity to travel from Hawaii to the Mainland through an amazing transfer partner named Newberg Animal Shelter. But, he still needs help finding a forever home!
Kau’i Boy deserves more than a kennel. He deserves memories, walks, soft beds, and someone to love. Maybe… that someone is you.
