Klaira is the longest-stay dog we’ve ever had at our rescue! She ended up at a high-kill Houston shelter in March of 2023. She was Heartworm-positive and it was clear she had recently weaned puppies.
She came to us in April of 2023 and has been waiting for a forever home since. She completed her Heartworm treatment (as well as a board and train program!) She’s an awesome dog – definitely a staff and volunteer favorite.
The reason she has been waiting so long is because she is dog-selective. There have been dogs she’s gotten along great with, and others she hasn’t done well around. She tends to do best with easy-going submissive male dogs.
Not only is Klaira fun, cuddly, and affectionate, but she is so goofy and will always keep you laughing. She loves to zoom in the yard and even jumped on a trampoline at one point in her life. Klaira has been fantastic with children.
