What kind of home would be best for me? Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically. What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! While our ideal home for puppies has another young dog in it, Hudson could be adopted to a home where he is the only dog as long as there is a solid plan for regular socialization a minimum of 4 times per week.

Socialization occurs when dogs are off leash and free to be themselves, unencumbered by human restraints (other than the fence that keeps them safely contained). Socialization times would be for instance, inviting a neighbor or friend over with their dog to play in your fenced yard or going to someone else’s home to play in their fence yard. Socialization time could be doggy daycare. Socialization time could be a group walk if you include a playtime at the end of it. Training classes do not always include socialization time. Some puppy classes do include a period of time at the end where the dogs can romp and play together. This would be perfectly acceptable. Time can also take place inside the home, it does not have to be an outdoor area, as long as the dogs are free to interact with each other without leashes or other restraints.

When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can!

What is my personality like? Gentle, Charming, Eager-to-Please! It doesn’t take this sweet boy long to open up and immediately crawl into your lap for cuddles! He is an extremely gentle and considerate puppy who loves to follow in his siblings’ lead. Hudson enjoys playing outside with toys and other dogs, but he loves nothing more than human attention and affection. He can be a little shy upon meeting new strangers, but if you’re gentle and patient he will open right up! He is a very smart boy who is picking up onto things quickly, but he will still need more socialization as he grows up! He gets along great with all other dogs and would be the ideal family dog!

How do I act when I first meet new people? I’m a puppy, I LOVE everybody! Hudson can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience he opens right up.

Special Needs? Hudson is up to date on vaccines for his age. He is not neutered due to age and size. Hudson is an Australian Shepherd / Standard Poodle mix. We will never guarantee that a poodle is hypoallergenic or that they won’t shed. If you have allergy concerns, Hudson is not your dog.

Height: 18 in and growing – we expect Hudson will be between 22-24 inches when full grown.
Spayed/Neutered: No. Hudson will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to neuter him within 12 months at your cost and provide proof of neuter.

Adoption Fee: $599

Fence needed? Yes, Hudson is going to be a large dog. He requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn’t keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
