His Human Died—Now Scruffy Is Looking for Someone New to Love Him

When Scruffy arrived, his world had just fallen apart.

His human passed away, and while her family wanted to keep him, they simply weren’t in a position to provide the care he needed. Making the decision to ask for help wasn’t easy—for them or for Scruffy—but it was made out of love.

Now, this sweet little guy is ready for his next chapter.

Scruffy is a 2-year-old Terrier mix who weighs just 12 pounds, but don’t let his size fool you—he’s packed with affection. He’s gentle, friendly, and has quickly shown that he loves just about everyone he meets. Humans? Big fan. Other dogs? Also yes. Cats? No reaction at all.

In his foster home, Scruffy is adjusting beautifully. He enjoys being outside and playing with the other dogs, but his true passion is much simpler: curling up on the sofa for serious snuggle time. Couch cuddles are clearly his love language.

He’s potty trained, does well in a crate, and is learning the ropes of leash walking. Basically, Scruffy is that rare rescue dog who’s already got a lot of the hard stuff figured out.

Scruffy has been neutered, brought fully up to date on his vaccinations, and microchipped. He’s healthy, happy, and genuinely ready to settle into a forever home where he can feel safe and loved again.

Losing his person was not the ending Scruffy chose—but it doesn’t have to be the end of his story.
