Harvey is such a sweet, mellow dog with adorable spots! His fosters say
he follows you around the house and loves to just sit by your feet, and
CUDDLE on the couch. He is VERY GOOD around people, he loves to rest
his adorable head on your lap. He is VERY QUIET and rarely barks. Never
whines. He is the perfect dog to add to your family.
More from his foster:
Harvey has been almost the perfect dog with us. He is calm and loving in
the house. He usually just loves to lay in the sun or be in a room with
whoever is home.
He listens very well. He even got out the front door
but listened and came back without us having to chase him. We give him
long walks which he really loves. He knows the word walk so we have to
be careful when we say it because he gets super excited and we don’t
want to let him down. We’ve come to understand that Harvey’s issues with
other dogs is all about anxiety. He is on high alert when we walk and
it seems like he is just trying to protect himself. When we cross
streets or he sees another dog.
He often gets super low to the ground
almost like he’s hiding. About half the time he pulls away from other
dogs when we see them on walks and half the time he pulls towards them. I
think it’s all about how threatened he feels. Some dogs he will pull
away from and then keep looking back nervously. If a dog is barking at
him from across the street or has an unfriendly stance, then Harvey will
pull to go towards them.
If a dog pays him no attention he usually just
looks and keeps going, looking back to make sure the dog is not coming
after him. At night he stays in his bed on the floor. He very rarely
barks. He definitely is a smart dog who learns new tricks fast.
He is a LOVING and AFFECTIONATE boy who just wants to feel comfortable and have a place to relax and call home.
