Gemma is a 4-year-old Pit Bull, Shepherd, and Labrador Retriever mix with a heart as big as her body (73 lbs of snuggly affection!). She’s the kind of dog who leans right into you for love, rolls over for belly rubs, and will happily snooze with her head in your lap. All she wants is to be close to her people and feel safe, cherished, and included.

Gemma’s story began with deep love—she belonged to a close friend of one of the rescue’s founders, but after her person passed away from cancer, Gemma was left without a home. Since then, she’s been grieving and healing, slowly rediscovering her joy and goofy spirit. She’s blossomed into a brilliant, playful companion who thrives on learning and connection. She enjoys scent work and agility foundations, carries her favorite stuffy toys around the house, and responds beautifully to training. She walks well on leash and is completely house-trained.
