Compassion’s previous owner died and the person’s next of kin dumped her at a shelter. She was scared, did not trust people, and had no socialization. The sanctuary was contacted by a volunteer at the shelter for saving her.
The staff wanted to name this extremely frightened dog coward but they found a better name to describe what she needs and not who she is at this time: Compassion. Her age is guessed at 10, but she does not act old. She has medium energy, now loves going on walks, and even loves to hunt little animals on the ground. She is so happy when the staff is with her in her kennel or taking her on her walks.
She is spayed and is being worked on becoming socialized. She is great with calm females of her size and is tolerating males that are her size. She would be best in a home as the only dog or with calm females.
