Chip is a 2 year old male German Shepherd/potentially Great Pyrenees mix who arrived at the shelter a month ago after being confiscated by Animal Control. He was found in San Jacinto when his previous owner moved out and left him behind in the backyard. The new homeowner, while moving into the home, discovered him and immediately contacted animal control. Despite the owner’s initial claim that they would return for the dog, they ultimately confirmed after all they were not coming back, leaving the new homeowner no choice but to request the dog be removed immediately.
At the shelter, Chip has shown signs of stress – he’s nervous and stiff, and had an incident of overcorrecting with another dog, so he’s been flagged as “no play, defensive.” He’s a case that will need extra patience and love, as he also proves himself to be a gentle and loving dog – Chip just needs someone to understand that he needs time and a safe environment after the trauma he’s endured.
