Charleston is a 1-year-old red Doberman with a heart full of energy and love! Rescued alongside 26 other Dobermans from a neglectful breeder in West Virginia, Charleston has made great progress and is ready to start his next chapter with a forever family who will give him the love, training, and structure he deserves.
Charleston’s Ideal Home
🐾 Active & Engaging – Charleston is a true working dog who thrives with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He loves long walks, fetch, wrestling with canine friends, and chewing on sturdy bones. A fenced yard would be ideal for him to burn off his endless energy!
🐾 Curious & Brave – After living in a kennel, Charleston is still learning about the world. While he can be cautious with new experiences, he quickly gains confidence when shown patience and reassurance.
🐾 Loves to Snuggle – Despite his high energy, Charleston has a sweet, affectionate side. He is a classic Velcro Doberman who will happily curl up next to his people when it’s time to relax.
🐾 Best as Part of a Pack – Charleston does well with other large dogs and enjoys playful chases and wrestling matches in his foster home. However, he has not been tested with cats.
🐾 Older Kids Only – Charleston would do best in a home with older children, as small kids and their unpredictable energy can make him nervous.
Training & Progress
