Candy is a very sweet Border Collie Australian Shepherd mix. She’s energetic and loves to play ball or tug. She’d love a running partner. She also is a Hound for belly rubs and the company of humans.
Candy was captured off a road in the country chasing cars where she was likely dumped. She had blisters on all four feet and a collar growing into her neck. Candy,s neck had horrifically sickening wound on it from this embedded collar. The flesh surrounding the wound smelled as if she had rolled in something dead but it was literally her own flesh rotting right on her body. I rushed her to the vet and had the wound scrubbed and medicated.
Candy never flinched and just wanted to give kisses. At that time I noticed Candy was not responding to any sounds. Her diagnosis came back as being deaf. This has not hindered her spirit or her will to thrive. Over a period of a few months Candy’s neck healed, we had her spayed, microchipped and vaccinated and now she is ready for her FUR-ever home.
She is very smart, learns quickly and is a quiet girl. She is learning to get along with other family dogs but currently prefers to be the only pet. Candy is amazingly resilient and a very happy, pretty girl. She is likely one and a half to 2 years old.
