Hello! My name is Cairo.
I am two years old as of April 2024. I weigh about 100 pounds. I am tall, dark gray and sinfully handsome, with absolutely mesmerizing large gray/light brown eyes! I am very happy with kibble and love apples. I am a very healthy eater!
I am the sweetest gentle giant! I am super shy at first, and can be a little nervous about new things. However, after I get comfortable in my surroundings, I get really playful and cuddly! And I definitely love my quiet time to snooze in peace.
Happy days are pretty easily achieved. I love to wake up early for a big breakfast. Throughout the day, I like to take naps and play tag. Play time involves chasing my sister around the backyard for a few minutes, chewing on toys, playing tug-of-war games, and splashing in a pool. More naps throughout the day followed by a big dinner. So mainly food, sleep, and humans make any day perfect!
I love chew toys! My favorite is the Benebone. Yummy! I am working hard on the basics, including learning to sit and shake your hand. I am very well behaved as I wait for a treat or bath.
I am uncertain about a lot of things in the world and need to gain confidence so I will be more comfortable with the goings-on in everyday life. Please be patient with me as I adjust to new things!
I am naturally very kindhearted and gentle. However, due to my size, a home with older children, or no children, may be a better fit than with small children. I have ignored cats that I have come across while in foster care.
I LOVE other dogs, big or small! I love to be with my humans. I am attentive and loyal and make a wonderful companion. I am very strong and healthy. No issues!
My sister, Cleo, and I live with our foster mom, foster grandma, and four other small dogs. We love to play and spend time together. My favorite human is my foster mom, of course. She shows me patience and understanding, and gives me toys and treats and food! She is the best! I am crate trained, so I nap in my cozy crate when I am home alone.
I love to steal my foster mom’s bed for my daytime naps, especially if foster mom naps with me! But I sleep comfortably in my crate, too. I am not comfortable with walking out in the big scary world yet. I don’t mind the leash, but until I am more confident, walks are a bit overwhelming.
My foster mom says I like to hog the bed during naptime, but I have no bad habits! I don’t bark excessively, don’t chew on things I am not supposed to…foster mom said she’s so pleased with what a good boy I am! I am house trained. I LOVE water! I get excited to play in the water, and I tolerate baths, even though they’re not as much fun as a kiddie pool! I love the attention I get from my foster mom and I am very responsive to training and routine. She gives me lots of love and affection but does not let me get away with any shenanigans either.
Cleo and I were found roaming the streets all by ourselves. My shyness may stem from that situation, and that is possibly why I am not thrilled about taking walks outside of my safe space. But I am growing more confident each day, and I would love to come to your home to experience a fun new life of love and cuddles with you!
