Otter didn’t waste any time settling into his Florida foster home. From the moment he walked in, he hopped right onto the couch with the other dogs like he had been part of the family all along. With his constant tail wag and unmistakably beagle-style happy wiggle, he quickly made it clear—this is a dog who believes everyone is already his friend.

Now in foster care, Otter has shown just how adaptable and easygoing he truly is. He’s social with other dogs, comfortably submissive without being shy, and enjoys both group snuggles and solo yard explorations. He’s also proven to be wonderfully gentle with a 4-year-old child in the home, tolerating everything from playful running games to being dressed up with surprising patience and charm.

What Life With Otter Looks Like

🚶‍♂️ Enjoys leash walks, though his beagle nose does lead the way
🛋️ Loves couch time and joining in for attention
🛏️ Sleeps peacefully in his crate at night
🏠 Comfortable being crated for short periods when needed (especially with company of other dogs)
🌳 Enjoys backyard time and independent exploring

Otter is affectionate without being demanding—he’ll happily join in for attention but isn’t pushy about it. He’s also doing well with crate time and has shown a calm, adaptable nature when left for short periods.

He is heartworm negative, well-mannered, and fully ready for a “sleepover” that turns into forever.

Otter isn’t just a good dog—he’s the kind of dog who walks into your life, curls up on your couch, and quietly decides he belongs there.
