This little male Maltese mix, thought to be around 10 months old, had just arrived at the shelter the morning of when Rocky spotted him in the halls. A good samaritan had dropped him off in night drop and left behind as much information about where he was found as well as their own contact information, likely pointing to not being the actual owner. He was found on the road that runs right next to the shelter, where it is notorious for speeding cars and large vehicles – a dangerous place for a small dog like himself. According to health check notes, he seems to have irritation on the base of his nose, long unkempt nails, saliva staining his face, a slight overbite, and hairy ears they recommend plucking. These details, combined with the fact that he has no collar or microchip, means no owner is known at this time, and it’s likely he’s been uncared for in some time. Thankfully, Mel the shelter groomer steps in to also make him feel a bit more comfortable.
Alfredo is fearful, shaking when approached and freezes like a deer in headlights. However, Rocky spends time with him and eventually gets him not only to take treats, but also to even start wagging his tail once he steps away, showing how he wants more attention now that Rocky sat with him. His nickname is suggested by Kelly, both for the love of food names and that he’s light colored like alfredo pasta sauce.
