Serrano is one of four dogs rescued just in time after a heartbreaking loss. He and his siblings—Habanero, Hatch, and Wasabi—were surrendered to the shelter on May 16th after their loving owner passed away. Suddenly without their person and placed in a crowded shelter, the dogs became frightened and shut down. Tragically, two of the six siblings passed away in their kennels. As Serrano’s name appeared on the euthanasia list for June 17th, rescuers rushed to save him and his remaining siblings. Today, Serrano is in a safe foster home in Southern California, slowly beginning to heal and rediscover the joy of companionship.
