Mario is a 3-year-old, 10.4-pound small dog with a gentle heart and a second chance story that begins with neglect—but is now turning toward hope. He was surrendered to an overcrowded shelter simply because his owner no longer wanted him. When he arrived, he was severely matted, dirty, and in need of immediate care.

He required a full shave-down and treatment for a raw, irritated nose. Thankfully, after veterinary care and antibiotics, he is healing well, and more serious medical concerns were ruled out. Today, Mario is feeling better, looking brighter, and finally ready to move forward.

Despite everything he’s been through, Mario has remained incredibly sweet, friendly, and loving.
