Simone arrived as a stray on 5/17/2026 at Animal Friends of the Valleys, and from the beginning, she’s carried a soft sadness that hasn’t quite left her face. At about 2 years old, this Pit Bull mix with a Rottweiler-like black and brown coat and blocky head has spent her time in the shelter quietly trying to understand her surroundings—and slowly, cautiously learning that people can offer comfort, not just confusion.

And now, she’s starting to ask for love instead of waiting for it.
